The most important thing for the development of a country is to learn its language, culture and literature. The expansion of the Central Asian Turkish States to the outside world since the 90s has created the necessity of learning and getting to know the language and literature of the states within this world. The main factor in achieving this is learning the languages, literature and cultures of these states. In this sense, Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures is a department established to fulfill this task. The education of students of the Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures department is very important in this context. Revealing, learning and sharing common national and cultural values play a major role in bringing the Turkish world closer together.
Today, most of the Turkish dialects are state languages, written languages, literary languages, literary languages, etc. It is used in the following regions: Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Chuvash, Kabarta-Balkaria, Karachay-Circassian, Dagestan, Tuva, Sakha (Yakut), Altai, Khakas Republics, Turkish dialects with the same name as these republics, has the specified status. The language usage levels of the "minority nation status" Uyghur Turks living in the People's Republic of China, especially in the East Turkestan region, are similar to the language status of Soviet-era Turkish dialects. In the People's Republic of China, there are also Turks who are members of other Turkish dialect groups, especially Yellow Uyghur and Salar. There are many South-western (Oghuz), South-eastern (Turkestan/Uyghur) and North-western (Oghuz) regions, especially in Iran, Iraq and Syria, as well as in the Balkan countries, former Soviet Republics such as Moldova and Ukraine, Afghanistan and Tajikistan. There are Turks who speak Turkish dialects, members of the Kipchak (Kipchak) dialect groups, as their mother tongue. Our department provides education and training with an interdisciplinary understanding on the language, literature, history, socio-cultural structures and international relations of the Turkish language speakers in this wide area.

Vocational Preparatory Education:
Scientific Preparatory Class is offered for those who are not graduates of the Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures or Turkish Language and Literature Undergraduate Program and those who do not meet the necessary conditions.
Double Major, Minor, Joint Diploma: Our department may have the opportunity to do a double major in cooperation with departments such as Linguistics, Contemporary Turkish Dialects, History, Western Languages and Literatures, Eastern Languages and Literatures, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy. In master's and doctoral theses, methods of relevant disciplines are used and joint studies can be carried out. It is possible to cooperate with equivalent diploma programs.
- Students who have completed their undergraduate education in the departments of Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures, Turkish Language and Literature, Linguistics and History will be accepted.
- Having received at least 65 (sixty-five) points from ALES in one of the EA/SÖZ fields (or GMAT at least 530, GRE (old) at least 660, GRE (new) at least 152 Quantitative). ALES score is valid for 5 years.
- Undergraduate graduation grade point average must be at least 60 out of 100.
- It is mandatory to get at least 50 points out of 100 from YDS / YÖKDİL.
- Candidates who completed their undergraduate education abroad must have an equivalence certificate obtained from the Council of Higher Education.
Purposes:
1. To train experts who are aware of the language, literature, culture, history and political developments in countries such as Central Asia, Turkish noble states and related communities, the Russian Federation, Eastern Europe, China and Iran,
2. To train expert researchers who will carry out translations and research in each dialect,
3. To recognize the phases that Turkish has gone through since Old Turkish, to enable students to specialize in one or more of these dialects through comparative teaching of old and contemporary Turkish dialects,
4. To provide students with comprehensive knowledge on issues related to the language and literature of the Turkish World and to enable them to develop a conscious approach towards Turkish culture,
5. To encourage students to do individual research on a scientific platform, to enable them to think about current issues of Turkish and generate ideas and to bring them closer to these problems,
6. To raise individuals who have the skills to evaluate social events and various cultural patterns, influence people and communicate,
7. To encourage research that will shed light on today's issues based on historical events in the geographies where the Turkish language is spoken,
8. To train regional experts who know and know the Turkish Republics to be employed at various levels of the state.
Goals:
The main objectives of the Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures Master's Program are to lead the social development process with innovative and creative research within the framework of the university's core values and graduate education program regulations, to be preferred at national and international levels, to strengthen university-alumni solidarity, to develop critical thinking skills, questioning; To raise individuals who respect human rights for the future of the country in the light of high human values. In this context, the main objectives of the Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures Master's Program are as follows:
1. To provide a contemporary education that appeals to the Turkish Republics and their surroundings in all aspects,
2. To train expert staff who can be a bridge between the people of Turkey and the Turkic Republics,
3. To raise qualified and equipped students who are knowledgeable about the Turkish world and its issues and who can produce solutions,
4. To contribute to increasing scientific studies on the values of the Turkish Republics,
5. To develop and implement national and international scientific projects in the field,
6. Directing students to research and study related to the field,
7. To contribute to the development of interdisciplinary education and research.
The aim of the thesis master's program in the Department of Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures; To ensure that the student acquires the ability to access information, compile, interpret and evaluate information by conducting scientific research. Master's program with thesis; It consists of courses, seminars, thesis work, thesis defense exams and complementary activities/practices, if any.
Those who cannot successfully complete the credit courses and seminar courses included in the education plan at the end of four semesters or who cannot fulfill the success conditions/criteria stipulated by the higher education institution within this period; The student who fails his thesis work or does not defend his thesis within the maximum period is dismissed from the higher education institution.
· Program duration is 2 years.
· In the thesis master's program, the course load consists of at least seven courses, one seminar and, if any, complementary activities/practices, provided that they are not less than 21 credits and not more than 30 credits. In the master's program with thesis, 60 ECTS credits must be obtained from all courses, including seminars. The total ECTS credits of the thesis is 60.
· Courses may be offered at other higher education institutions upon the request of the advisor, the recommendation of the department/major art/science/art branch/program chair, or if an advisor is not appointed, the direct recommendation of the department/major art/science/art branch/program chair, the approval of the head of the program in which the course is to be taken, and the decision of the relevant institute board of directors. It can also be chosen from graduate courses offered and undergraduate courses provided that there are no more than two courses and they have not been taken during education. Courses cannot be taken from doctoral/art proficiency programs.
· Grades received from selected undergraduate courses, subject to undergraduate attendance requirements, are evaluated according to the same criteria as undergraduate students. However, the success conditions of these students are determined according to the success evaluation criteria in the graduate program.
· The student must successfully complete his courses, seminar, credits and ECTS credits, and complementary activities/practices, if any, before submitting his thesis.
· The student who successfully meets all the conditions specified for the thesis master's program in this Regulation and fulfills the other procedures required by the relevant institute is given a thesis master's diploma with the approved name of the program in the department in which the student is registered.
QUOTA:
- The program is opened twice a year, in the fall and spring semesters.
- General quota is 5, horizontal transfer quota is 5, foreign student quota is 5.
CURRICULUM:
Grant supports provided in the field of higher education within the scope of the Lifelong Learning Program, which was carried out by the European Union Commission between 2007-2013 and ended in 2014, will continue under the Erasmus + Program between 2014-2020.
The Erasmus+ Program aims to provide more effective tools that promote cooperation between different sectors in line with the objectives of the Europe 2020 Strategy for new needs in the fields of education, youth and sports.
Specifically in the field of higher education, it aims to increase the quality in higher education and strengthen the cooperation of higher education institutions with each other and the business world.
Erasmus+ The target audience of Erasmus activities, in the broadest sense, includes institutions and organizations that are parties to higher education, as well as the employees and students of these institutions. Applications can only be made by institutions and organizations to the National Agency or the Educational, Visual and Cultural Executive Agency, the relevant unit of the EU Commission, depending on the type of project. Individual applications are not accepted.

Student and Faculty Member Exchange Program Between Higher Education Institutions, briefly called "Farabi Exchange Program", is a student and faculty member exchange program between higher education institutions that provide education at associate, bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels within universities and high technology institutes.
Farabi Exchange Program aims to enable students or faculty members to continue their education and training activities at a higher education institution outside their own institution for one or two semesters.
