HISTORY OF THE CONTEMPORARY TURKISH DIALECTS AND LITERATURES DEPARTMENT
Istanbul University Department of Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures was opened in the 2011-2012 Academic Year. It had its first graduates in 2015.
MISSION AND VISION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF CONTEMPORARY TURKISH DIALECTS AND LITERATURES
Mission: To teach the dialects, literatures and cultures of the Turks, who spread over a wide area, especially in Central Asia; To cooperate with parallel institutions of the Turkish world in the fields of education and culture; to produce scientific, literary and intellectual works; To train competent scientists and educators who are knowledgeable in their fields and aim to serve their nation.
Vision: To maintain the academically strong and competent position of the Department of Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures; To make the Department an important center of this field in the coming period.
